The excellent demonstations and examples clearly illustrate the challenge faced by late grade school and middle school choral directors of boys in the midst of the maturing of their voices. This is expecially helpful for the female choral director as they help their young men sing their way through the process by "taking the high road". Henry Lech is a legend in the children's choir arena - I can't think of a better guide and teacher. If you are the parent of a son that is approaching the voice change I'd advise you to buy a copy of this and share it with their music teacher. They will thank you as will your son when he is able to maintain a multi-ocative range into adulthood. I wish I could have been exposed to this in my youth!
