(More customer reviews)I had purchased this vocal score for my own study and found it to be most helpful indeed. To those of you who are familiar with the piece (and the original score), this vocal reduction presents the rather daunting music in a more decipherable and efficient manner. The score gives detailed performance notes with regards to the execution of extended techniques and the experimental notation that is used throughout. The reduced piano accompaniment manages to capture all of the key facets of the original ensemble while presenting a more feasible execution for the pianist. Of course, to get the full impact of the piece one should also get the full score in its original format. Some things are best conveyed using the experimental notation and graphic representations, but for the sake of a vocalist's practice the need for efficient representation makes more sense.
To any who are interested in studying the piece (or attempting the challenging vocal techniques!) this is an invaluable reference. The full score is essential for understanding the original notation and layout (which help to truly capture the work), but this study score allows the student to engage a more straightforward layout. Both are essential!
