(More customer reviews)We used Book 1 in this series and did well with it. My 5yo and 7yo were both learning. They both benefitted from having the CD to practice with. It plays the exact thing the child is supposed to play (not accompanying chords), as if they are playing along with their instructor. This way, if they forget how a song sounds when they are alone practicing, or what rhythm they are supposed to use, they have something to go by. At the end of Book 1, my 7yo was ready to move on to a more mature book, but my 5yo is staying with this series. She enjoys simple types of kid's songs, as well as the pictures! I was surprised to see that the pictures in this, Book 2, are NOT in color as they are in Book 1. Not really a big deal, but a difference. My 7yo decided that it is actually good, because as the 5yo learns each song, she can COLOR IN the picture that goes with it, as a reward for learning! Great idea....
